Four Most Beautiful Mobile Home Communities in the US

Updated: Jan 7

Whether a mobile home community is comprised of long-time locals or to transient vacationers, manufactured homes are still found in some of the most attractive areas in the country.

In no particular order, here are my picks for four of the most beautiful mobile home communities in the country:

Paradise Cove - Malibu, California

Paradise Cove should come as no surprise that the country’s most expensive mobile home community is also one the most beautiful. With a gorgeous location near the beach and mobile homes built and furnished to rival most penthouses, paradise cove sure earns its name.

The community is the exact opposite of what you may find in most mobile home parks. The gentry there contains movie stars, famous business people, and other people of importance. Many residents of Paradise Cove, though, travel more often than they stay in their mobile homes.

Targhee Place - Alpine, Wyoming

In my neck of the woods, located in Western Wyoming, you can find Targhee Place. Not only is this community nestled up against scenic Palisades Reservoir, but it’s within about an hour’s drive of Grand Teton National Park and Grand Targhee Ski Resort.

This modern community boasts 81 private-view lots, 5,000 square feet each, which overlook a scenic wooded valley or cascading ponds with fountains. The outside of the homes may be all straight edges, but the luxury interior lands this community on my list.

Montauk Shores Condominium - Montauk, New York

Now, now, I know what you might be thinking. “Condominiums aren’t mobile homes!” However, the word condominium as a singular means a building or complex of buildings containing a number of individually owned apartments or houses.

In 1976, 152 individual parties banded together to purchased the seaside property after the previous campsite owners filed for bankruptcy. This group formed Montauk Shores as a mobile home park condominium. It was the first mobile home park condominium in New York State.

Today, it remains one of the most charming mobile home communities, complete with well-maintained homes, beach-front access, and beautifully manicured grounds.

Sunset Harbor Mobile Home Community - Key West, Florida

In true Florida fashion, Sunset Harbor is home to rows of brightly colored houses surrounded by manicured palms. Located on Cow Key Channel in Key West, this family-friendly, 79-site waterfront community is the perfect place to enjoy oceanfront living.

Surrounded by two private canals, this mobile home community has stunning views of the Florida Keys, plenty of biking and hiking trails nearby, and direct access to the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

Conclusion

There’s a lot of stigma and stereotypes associated with mobile home communities, but we believe parks like these show the versatility and beauty that can be found in MHCs!

Out of the parks we featured, which park do you think is the most beautiful? Did we miss any noteworthy communities on our list? Let us know in the comments.
